A Care Home Website Built Around the Phone Call

Tollington Lodge is a family-run care home in Weston-super-Mare. We replaced its old PHP site with a phone-first website, then rebuilt it so the home owns its code and pays no monthly platform fee.

Tollington Lodge is a family-run care home on Milton Road in Weston-super-Mare, offering residential, dementia and respite care. It is run by Sathya Care, and when they came to us the home’s website was an old PHP site.

We started with discovery: the home, its fees, its CQC registration, the other care homes in Weston-super-Mare and what families actually search for. Then we designed and launched a new site. In October 2026 we rebuilt it page for page in Next.js, so the home owns its code outright, it is hosted on Vercel, and there is no monthly website-builder subscription to keep paying.

What families get

  • The phone, first. The number sits in the header on desktop, a sticky tap-to-call bar follows visitors on phones and tablets, and the homepage leads with Call, then Book a visit. A family choosing a care home wants to talk to someone, so the site is built around the call.
  • Fees in the open. The fees and funding page starts with the weekly price, from £1,150, and explains how paying for care works in England. No “contact us for prices”.
  • A page for each kind of care. Residential, dementia and respite care each have their own page, so a family searching for dementia care in Weston-super-Mare lands on the page that answers them.
  • CQC’s official rating widget on every page. Regulation 20A requires a care provider’s rating on its website. The official widget updates itself when the rating changes.

Numbers you can stand behind

Care homes are judged on trust, so every figure on the site has to be true:

  • Template statistics with no source behind them came out. The care pages now show the home’s real numbers: 25 bedrooms, from £1,150 a week, and carers on site 24/7.
  • The home’s “Good” CQC rating belonged to the previous provider, so the site no longer claims it. It says the home is registered with the CQC and lets the official widget show the detail.

Under the bonnet

  • Old addresses kept working. 16 old .php pages that Google still knew about were returning errors. They now redirect permanently to the right new pages, so the home keeps what those pages had earned in search.
  • Structured data on every page for the home, its care services and its FAQs, validated with zero errors.
  • Cookie consent that does what the policy says. Analytics load only after a visitor accepts.
  • Call tracking. Every tap on the phone number and every email click is recorded as a GA4 event, so the owners can see what the site produces.
  • Accessibility. Text contrast passes WCAG AA, and tap targets on phones are 44px.
